Texas: Cash For Appliances Rebate Program

Eligible Appliances, Brand And Model Numbers, Recycling And Rebate Information In Texas

Texas' rebate program to help residents replace older, inefficient appliances with energy-efficient appliances has closed.

Rebate reservations began at 7 a.m. central time on April 7, 2010 and closed later that day. The waitlist is also closed.

Refrigerators, freezers and room air conditioners each had flat rebate amounts while the rebate amount for clothes washers, dishwashers, central air conditioners, heat pumps and water heaters variued depending on the appliance type and energy efficiency of the model.

The program was one of 56 State Energy-Efficient Appliance Rebate Programs, popularly known as Cash for Appliances, that were set up in the United States and six U.S. territories with the help of federal stimulus money.

Texas received about $23.3 million of the nearly $300 million in stimulus funding available nationwide from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
