Halloween window clings, lawnmowers, rice cookers recalled

Button battery on window clings potential danger to children

SAN ANTONIO – Target recalled 127,000 Halloween window decorations because they can scare up a real danger to children.

The window gel clings, which light up, can separate and expose the LED button cell battery. If a child ingests the small battery, it can cause serious internal burns.

The gel clings come various seasonal designs, such as skeletons and spiders.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission warned that the recalled clings should not be used in areas where children can become exposed.

The $1 product can be returned to Target for a refund.

Nearly 235,000 gas-powered lawn mowers made by Husqvarna were also recalled because when some people would release the control bar, the engine and blades would keep operating.

The recall involves Husqvarna, Poulan Pro, Jonsered, Craftsman, Yardworks, Murray and Brute walk-behind mowers with Briggs and Stratton 7.25 horsepower engines.

The company has received 53 reports of the engine not shutting off. No injuries have been reported.

The mowers were sold at Lowe's, Sears and other hardware and home stores from November 2015 through August 2016.
