Charles Gonzalez joined the KSAT 12 News team in May 2007 as a general assignments reporter after spending three years in Minneapolis as a sports reporter and anchor at KARE-TV.
Charles is making the transition to reporting news following nine years of covering sports in various parts of Texas and Minnesota.
He began his career in Odessa, in West Texas, and then moved to Tyler in East Texas. After a few years in the Rose City, he moved to San Antonio to continue his sports broadcasting career at WOAI-TV. He covered the San Antonio Spurs second NBA championship during his first stint in San Antonio and during that time also married his wife Monika.
A few years later, Charles moved to Minneapolis, where he enjoyed the cold weather but missed Tex-Mex food in San Antonio.
When he's not busy covering the news, Charles enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and the rest of his immediate family in town.
He enjoys working out sparingly and solving crossword puzzles and other games to keep his mind sharp.
If you can believe it, he's also a proud member of Mensa and enjoys playing "Guitar Hero."
