Myra Arthur

Anchor/Reporter

It has been Myra's long-time goal to anchor and report in her hometown, and being able to do that as part of the KSAT 12 News team is a real dream come true.

Myra comes to the Alamo City from the Waco-Temple-Killeen market, where she was the primary weekday evening anchor at KCEN-TV.

During her time there, Myra covered a tragic event that changed not only Central Texas history, but the face of the nation.

Myra was the first anchor on the air on Nov. 5, 2009 -- the day 13 people were killed and 32 others wounded in a shooting at Fort Hood. She anchored more than seven hours of news coverage as the gravity of that day unfolded on the country's largest military installation.

Prior to her time in the heart of Texas, Myra lived and worked in Corpus Christi, where she was a morning anchor and reporter. Her days started early, but the experience was invaluable. That's where Myra learned she has a love for consumer and investigative reporting.

She will tell you that those are the best stories-the kind that make an impact and help someone who might not be able to help themselves.

San Antonio is home for Myra. She graduated from high school in the Alamo City and went on to earn a journalism degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas.

She is originally from Kentucky, and while she's proud of her bluegrass roots, Texas is her home. She loves the saying, "I wasn't born here, but I got here as soon as I could!"

When Myra isn't working, she loves spending time with her husband, friends and family, as well as reading a good book, playing tennis, baking, or doing anything creative!
