2 dead, 1 injured in drive-by shooting
Motive behind shooting on Fresno unknown
SAN ANTONIO - Police said a man and a woman were fatally shot, and another person critically wounded by someone who may have followed them from a sports bar.
Shots were fired around 2 a.m. Friday in front of a Valero store on Interstate 10 and Fresno.
Police said the female victim was driving west bound on Fresno with both men inside when another car pulled up next to them and someone inside sprayed the vehicle with several bullets.
The driver attempted to speed away but crashed in a nearby field. She along with the other victim were pronounced dead at scene.
The third victim was shot in the leg several times. He was taken to University Hospital in critical condition and is expected to survive.
Police said they found at least 11 shell casings at the scene, but details surrounding the shooting remained limited.
Police believe the group had just left Stacey's Sports Bar on Blanco Road. The manager called KSAT and said there was no indication of an argument inside the bar and they did not see the victims being followed.
The names of the victims have not been released, but police said they were in their early 20s.
