SAPD: Rollover victim shoots at Good Samaritan

Good Samaritan not injured; Suspect arrested


SAN ANTONIO - A man who had just been involved in a rollover accident Wednesday morning on Interstate 37 downtown shot at a Good Samaritan who had stopped to help him, police said.

The incident happened at around 7 a.m. at Interstate 37 and Commerce, where a car rolled into a grassy area off the interstate, police said.

Moments later, a Good Samaritan stopped to help two people in the car when the male driver pulled out a gun and shot at him, police said. The Good Samaritan was not hit by the gunfire, police said.

The gunman took off on foot but was caught at a parking lot near Bowie and Commerce with a firearm in his possession, police said.

There was no immediate word on a motive for the shooting.

A female passenger in the car suffered minor injuries, police said.
