Second Siclovia kicks off this weekend
Planners working on even more to do than last year's event
SAN ANTONIO - Sunday will be the second time downtown San Antonio city streets will shut down, all for some family oriented fun where you may not usually find it.
City officials hope attendance at Siclovia will go well over the 30,000 mark. The YMCA is also getting involved this time around to help promote the physical aspect of the event.
There will be even more to do than at the city’s first Siclovia held back in October.
“Every half mile there will be Reclovias, or recreation stations. Those Reclovias will allow people to Zumba, engage is cardio combat, there will even be a Zen area. There will be hundreds of opportunities for people to just have fun,” said Randy Escamilla, Siclovia spokesman.
Siclovia kicks off this Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The route begins on Broadway from Brackenridge Park to McCullough.
Siclovia is also an officials pre-Fiesta event, to kick off the Fit Fiesta season.
