Gunshot victim shows up at far West Side hospital
Friends told police shots were fired from passing car on Highway 151
SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio police continue to investigate a deadly shooting involving a victim who was brought to a far West Side hospital.
Two people arrived at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in the 11200 block of Highway 151 with the victim after 2 a.m., police said.
They told officers they were traveling east on the highway near Loop 410 when they heard the sound of gunshots and noticed the 36-year-old victim in the back seat had been hit.
Police said the two friends turned their vehicle around and rushed the victim to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Hours later, police continued collecting evidence from their bullet-riddled car in a roped off area of the hospital’s parking lot.
Investigators said the witnesses reported seeing a black Ford F-150 drive past them around the time when they heard the shots.
Police took the two people to their downtown headquarters for further questioning. They did not immediately release the name of the man who was killed.
