SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio Police say a man beat up and apparently robbed his friend late Tuesday night.

According to police, a cab dropped the men off in the 1500 block of Rodgers Street near Interstate 35 around 11:30 p.m.

The 45-year-old suspect fled the scene, but was tracked down by police a short time later.

He was taken into custody and expected to face charges. He told police he did not take the victim's wallet.
