Editorial: Get out and vote on Saturday!

City election includes $596 million in bonds

SAN ANTONIO - In case you didn't realize it, there's an election coming up on Saturday and it's time to get to the polls.

We're not talking about the primaries yet. This is for $596 million in bonds that will benefit the entire city if they pass.

Early voting shows less than 3 percent of registered voters bothered to get out to make their voices heard.

We need to do better than that.

This is not a time to sit by and let other people decide what should happen in your city.

If you think it's not important, just consider what San Antonio would look like with roads full of more potholes, unfinished interchanges, parks left in disrepair and flood control that's unchecked.

The city says they can accomplish all of this and more without raising taxes, and we're confident they can after their successful track record from the last bond.

So get out Saturday and make your voice be heard.
