SAN ANTONIO - As Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich huddled with his players during Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder, he told the team what he expected from them on the court, “Good passes. Shoot with confidence. Give me some nasty.”

Yet George Roberts, who was unable to watch the game on TV, was following the action on Twitter.

“It sort of read at first that the Spurs were playing dirty, so I was like, that’s not our Spurs,” Roberts said.

Then Foster said he found out what Popovich actually said -- and decided it was a ready-made slogan.

“This is what we do so it popped into my head,” Roberts said.

He and his wife, Paula, own promo-sa.com, a small business specializing in promotional products.

After a friend suggested those immortal words should be on a T-shirt, Foster said he woke up his wife at 1:30 a.m.

She designed the logo while he got the website up and running.

They said since then, their website has been flooded with orders for the t-shirts that sell for $20, including priority shipping.

“They call and said, ‘I want that shirt’ or ‘I have to have that shirt’ or ‘My son needs that shirt,’” Paula Roberts said.

Roberts said a portion of the proceeds will go toward the Silver and Black Giveback, the Spurs charitable foundation.

The couple said they will produce the initial orders at home, but after Memorial Day, a silk screening print shop will be able to mass produce T-shirt, for sale on Wednesday.

“I mean, that was the game-changing event, when Pop talked to those guys,” Roberts said. “Manu went nuts and I think, it was 26 points he scored.”
