Brown rice healthier option
Consumer Reports tests quick-cooking brown rice
Brown rice is a healthier choice than white rice because it's a whole grain with fiber, antioxidants and other nutrients. And, you can even get those benefits with faster cooking brown rices, according to Consumer Reports.
Their testers evaulated several and compared them to brown rice that takes an hour to cook.
While the quick-cookers do cost more, they shave 50 minutes off prep time, and they were about as tasty.
The best of the tests was Trader Joe's Organic brown rice. Trader Joe's is coming to San Antonio later in the year.
Testers also liked Minute Ready-to-Serve Natural Whole Grain.
