2 suspected of DWI in morning crashes
SAPD: One driver flips, knocks down pole; other lands in ditch
SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio police suspect two men were driving drunk when they each crashed their car in separate wrecks early Friday morning.
The first accident happened around 1:45 a.m. Police say a 27-year-old man was driving too fast down the Loop 410 access road and lost control of his car when he turned into Harry Wurzbach.
Police said the man flipped his car and smashed into a pole, knocking it over.
He was taken to Northeast Baptist Hospital for treatment and is expected to face DWI charges. CPS Energy was called to replace the pole and no outages were reported.
The second accident happened around 3 a.m. at Loop 410 and Cherry Ridge.
Police said the driver lost control, hit the guardrail, bounced into the median and then came to a stop in the drainage ditch.
Police said alcohol was a factor and the driver would be charged with DWI. No injuries were reported.
