SA dry cleaners need help finding stolen trailer

Sunrise Cleaners falls victim to thieves

SAN ANTONIO - Many small business owners have fallen victim to the struggling economy.

But falling victim to thieves is something Brian Stevens never expected.

“I left work about 6:50 p.m.,” said Stevens. “My trailer was stolen at 7:06 p.m."

Stevens owns Sunrise Cleaners, on Southwest Loop 410.

On May 31, the $1,800 trailer he uses to make clothing deliveries was stolen.

Security cameras caught the thieves in action. The video shows a green truck with a teal stripe pull into the parking lot with what appears to be two people inside.

“The green truck just came in, looked at the construction workers, backed up to my trailer and drove out,” Stevens said.

Stevens -- in disbelief that his trailer is gone -- is now dealing with the financial fallout.

“Right now, I’m using my truck,” he said. “But it takes about (four) trips a day to carry a big load. Or I’ve been going to Uhaul to rent one of their trailers, That’s getting kind of expensive."

Stevens has filed a report with San Antonio police and given them the surveillance video.

While he says it would be nice to see the culprits punished, he just wants his trailer back.

“I’ll forgive and forget, but SAPD probably won’t,” Stevens said. “But I would just really like my trailer back.”

Stevens’ trailer had Sunrise Cleaner decals on it when it was stolen. If you have any information, you are asked to call SAPD.
