'Erratic' driver causes 3-car crash

Driver hospitalized in critical condition, no one else injured

SAN ANTONIO - A woman was hospitalized after San Antonio police say she caused a crash that involved two other vehicles.

The crash happened just before 11 p.m. Sunday in the southbound lanes of Highway 281 over the Josephine exit.

Police say a woman was spotted driving erratically and had attempted to pass several cars using the emergency lane.

Another driver noticed and hit her brakes. The erratic driver struck that vehicle, then hit a dually pickup truck before she rolled over.

Police said the 34-year-old rollover victim was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center in critical condition with head and internal injuries. No one else was injured.

Investigators did not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, but said the woman may have been under the influence of some kind of drug.
