SAN ANTONIO - An air conditioner and a fire truck's emergency lights were stolen last week from the South Bexar Volunteer Fire Department.

Firefighters said they first noticed the air conditioner was gone on Monday morning despite it being secured. An A/C unit was also stolen five years ago.

A firefighter washing a truck then noticed its emergency lights had been stolen as well. The truck can not be used on emergency calls until the lights are fixed.

"The main thing we're upset about is that someone has come in here and removed a piece of equipment that is here to protect this community," said David Crowley, VP of South Bexar Fire and Rescue.

Crowley said they just want the equipment back no questions asked. The South Bexar department is funded largely through donations and fundraising.

Fire officials said the cost to replace the lights alone is between $800 and $1,000.
