Man arrested in Valero robbery spree

SAPD: Joseph Anthony Paez robbed 4 Valeros

SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio police say they have arrested a man who they said robbed several convenience stores across town.

Tips called in to Crime Stoppers helped police track down 19-year-old Joseph Anthony Paez on Monday afternoon.

Paez was wanted for an aggravated robbery spree of four Valero stores on June 8 and June 9.

Police identified Paez as their suspect last week but hadn't been able to locate him. Once they got the tip, Paez was arrested without incident.

"The individual knew that he'd been wanted. We know that he'd been talking to several people that he wanted to turn himself in. It was just a matter of time and basically with his cooperation of crime stoppers," said Sgt. Daniel Alonzo, with the SAPD Robbery Task Force.

Paez is charged with four counts of aggravated robbery.
