Kidnapped Selma boy found safe
Simon Colby Weyman abducted Thursday evening
SAN ANTONIO - A six-year-old boy who was kidnapped on Thursday was reunited with his family Friday night.
Simon Colby Weyman, 6, was reunited with his grandmother and uncle at the Selma Police Department.
"Simon looks good," said Mary Gilson, the boy's grandmother. "He looks good."
Simon was taken from his grandmother's home in Selma on Thursday.
Gilson told police that three men broke in her home through the front and that a man and woman came in through the back of her home to take her grandson.
Police had named Simon's mother, Melissa Weyman, as a suspect and were also looking for two other men.
Friday evening, a Selma official confirmed that Simon had been found at a pool at an apartment complex pool on Broadway street in San Antonio.
Officers picked him up and took him to the Selma Police Department where he was re-united with his grandmother.
"Words can't describe how relieved I am," Gilson said. "I just want to take this time to thank everybody who helped in this case, especially the person who found him."
A Selma administrator said on Friday that Simon's mother and another person had been arrested.
Gilson said she has had custody of Simon, who was recently diagnosed as a special needs child, since 2011.
