Fatal shooting caught on tape

Video shows suspects firing shots from SUV

SAN ANTONIO - Crime Stoppers of San Antonio and San Antonio police released a video Monday that shows a fatal shooting that happened on the West side on Feb. 23.

The recording was captured by a witness in a car that was parked in front of a business in the 7300 block of the Highway 90 access road.

The video shows a blue pickup truck being shot at by a passenger in a dark colored SUV as the two vehicles travel West on the access road just before 1 p.m.

The pickup was driven by 49-year-old George Munoz Sr.

According to police, Munoz first encountered the suspects in the parking lot of a Security Service Federal Credit Union.

The camera captures the sound of several shots being fired as the two vehicles pass by.

Seconds later, Munoz lost control of his truck, crossed over the grassy median and went into the Westbound lanes of Highway 90, where it smashed into the concrete divider.

Munoz was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators aren't sure if Munoz knew the driver or the shooter that were inside the dark colored SUV, which could be a Ford Explorer or a Chevrolet Trailblazer.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information leading the arrest of the suspects. To leave a tip, call 210-224-STOP (7867).
