Police uncover alleged pot growing operation
Marijuana plants, growing equipment seized from Dancing Brook home
SAN ANTONIO - Police have broken up what they believe was a marijuana growing operation in a Northwest Side home.
Detectives along with SWAT officers raided a home in the 10200 block of Dancing Brook late Thursday night.
The home is on a cul-de-sac in a quiet residential area not far from Loop 1604 and Braun Road.
Police seized hundreds of marijuana plants, along with growing equipment, from the home. They also arrested a man in his 40s who lives there.
According to Javier Salazar, spokesman for SAPD, the equipment being used was quite sophisticated, but method being used to power it up put the entire neighborhood in danger.
"A lot of times the methods they use are less than professional. It's a fire hazard and this was no exception," he said. The name of the man who was arrested was not released immediately. However, Salazar said it is likely he will face federal charges.
