Father, son accused of teaming up to steal

Andres Barrera Jr., Andres Barrerra III, charged with theft

SAN ANTONIO - A father and son are accused of teaming up to steal from a North Side business.

San Antonio police arrested Andres Barrera Jr., 45, and his 20-year-old son, Andres Barrera III, on theft charges.

However, police said they’re also looking at the pair as suspects in a burglary at the same business.

According to an arrest affidavit, investigators believe the father and son walked into The Eyeglass Shop in the 2700 block of Danbury Street last Thursday and walked out with a $348 pair of designer eyeglass frames. They said the father distracted workers while the son stuffed the frames into his pants.

The affidavit stated that police believe the two came back later that night and broke into the business, stealing another $7,500 worth of eyeglass frames.

At this time, however, they have not been charged in connection with the burglary.
