SAPD: Deadly NE Side shooting may be gang-related
27-year-old man died of a gunshot wound to head
SAN ANTONIO - Police said a shooting on the Northeast Side that left a man dead was not a random act of violence.
Detectives said they suspect the shooting was gang related, or possibly the result of a drug deal.
They said witnesses told them the 27-year-old victim was walking along Nacogdoches Road near El Charro Road after 11 p.m. Monday when a pickup ran him down.
Two men inside that truck then got out and shot the victim in the head, police said.
The truck was last seen heading north on Nacogdoches.
Detectives said they’re interviewing the man who was with the shooting victim to get clues about the shooters. The victim's name has not been released.
