Skies clear after San Antonio area hit with heavy rain, lightning
Parts of SA get 1 to 3; up to 6 inches of rain Saturday night
SAN ANTONIO - Parts of San Antonio were soaked over the weekend with rainfall totals reaching nearly 6 inches in some locations.
The heavy rainfall caused street flooding and forced the closure of several roads.
Saturday night's storm also caused concern on the Riverwalk as the water level from rain runoff rose.
The rains pounded much of the city for about an hour late Saturday into Sunday morning, and lightning flashed for much of the night.
The National Weather Service reported most of the San Antonio sector got between 1 to 3 inches of rain.
But some areas south of San Antonio near Probandt Street and San Pedro Creek got as much as 6 inches of rain.
CPS Energy reported more than 14,000 customers without power at the peak of the storm.
According to the National Weather Service, Monday is expected to be sunny and clear with a high near 96, and an evening low around 72.
