Mother, daughter stabbed at troubled New Riviera Apartments complex

Police called to complex 125 times since January

SAN ANTONIO - A mother and her daughter are recovering after they were stabbed at their Southeast side apartment complex.

Police said just before 2 a.m., several women got into a fight at the New Riviera apartments in the 3200 block of Bolmore.

Police said one woman stabbed a woman in the back and then stabbed the woman's teenage daughter the stomach.

Both victims were both rushed to University Hospital for treatment.

That stabbing is just the latest in a long list of crimes that police are investigating there.

San Antonio police have been called to the apartment complex 125 times since the start of the year for reports of fights, assaults, shootings and rape.

"Everybody knows what goes on here," resident Jesse Reyes said. "Everybody just does whatever they want here, that's it."

Reyes said most of the people who live at the apartment complex want to know what's going on, but they don't want to get caught up in it.

"There's a fight here (and, since) everybody knows each other ... they gather around. It's like, 'Oh, who's that?'" he said.

Several residents said management at the apartment complex has been quick to get rid of residents who invite trouble into their home.

But for the rest, they said their best bet is to just keep to themselves.
