Police: Samuel Sanchez arrested after burglary victim spots stolen sword

Sanchez, 18, charged with burglary in home break-in on Porter Street

SAN ANTONIO - Police arrested 18-year-old Samuel Sanchez in connection with a home burglary on Porter Street where a sword was stolen.

An arrest warrant affidavit stated a man called police on Aug. 6 after returning to his East Side home and finding that he had been burglarized.

Someone had stolen several items, most notably the sword, from the residence, the affidavit stated.

Later that same day, the victim told police he had spotted a man coming out of the home next door, in the 300 block of Porter Street, carrying some of his stolen property, including the sword.

Investigators said they talked to several people in the home who pointed them toward Sanchez. He was booked into the Bexar County jail Tuesday with bond set at $20,000.
