SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio firefighters had their hands busy Thursday morning fighting a fire at an unoccupied home in the Parkwood subdivision, on the city's Northwest side.
Homeowner Margaret Cunningham said she had not been staying at the house, located in the 7700 block of Falcon Oak, because she was having it renovated.
She said she was coming to check on the construction progress around 6:45 a.m. on Thursday and found that it was on fire.
San Antonio Fire Department Battalion Chief Thomas McNulty said it looked like there were several fires on the first floor of the two-story home, but it was ultimately ruled accidental.
Damage totals are estimated at $35,000.
