Valerie Castillo accused of holding down woman while man beat her
Castillo, 37, charged with injury to the elderly
SAN ANTONIO - Police have accused Valerie Castillo of holding down a 66-year-old woman while the woman's son beat her. Castillo, 37, is facing a charge of injury to the elderly.
The victim called police in May after she said she was attacked in her own home.
An arrest warrant affidavit stated that the woman told police her son had come to her door with Castillo, but she refused to let them in because of previous problems with them.
She said her son was able to gain entry by forcing his way inside the home.
The affidavit stated that the woman told police Castillo held her down while her son beat her.
She said she was not able to get up and call for help until six hours later because of the attack.
According to the affidavit, police arrived and arrested the son right away but allowed Castillo to leave because they didn’t have all the facts.
Later, a warrant was issued for her arrest. Castillo was booked into the Bexar County Jail Wednesday with bond set at $15,000.
