Woman shot by man looking for husband at apartments on Roosevelt Avenue

SAPD: Victim's husband owed suspects drug money, shooter sought

SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio police say a woman was shot by a man looking for her husband late Monday night at an apartment complex in the 2900 block of Roosevelt.

Investigators said two men knocked on the woman's South Side apartment door around 10:40 p.m., and when she opened it, they asked for her husband.

The victim told police that she saw a gun in one man's waistband, so she slammed the door.

One of the men fired a shot through the door and hit her in the arm. She was rushed to University Hospital and is expected to recover, police said.

Investigators say the woman's husband owed the suspects money for drugs. As of 7 a.m. Tuesday, police had not announced an arrest in the shooting.
