Man hospitalized after SUV rollover

2 children, mother survive uninjured

SAN ANTONIO - Two young children and their mother are safe after their SUV rolled over in East Bexar County on Monday morning.

But a 57-year-old man who was riding with them suffered serious head injuries, accident investigators said.

He had to be taken by AirLife to University Hospital.

The rollover happened around 7:45 a.m. Interstate 10 East just before the Trainer Hale Exit.

The SUV blew a tire, veered off the road and rolled over onto the access road, investigators said.

The two children in the car -- ages 9 and 6 -- were not hurt and neither was their mother, who was driving.

Bexar County Sheriff's deputies say they were all wearing seat belts.

The mother and two kids were taken to University Hospital to be checked out, but investigators said they appeared to be OK.
