Driver crashes into West Side store on Ceralvo Street
Police: Driver thought she was in reverse when she hit gas pedal
SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio police said a woman crashed into a West Side convenience store on Ceralvo Street when she mixed up the reverse and drive gears.
Officers were called to the store around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. Police said the woman apparently thought she had her Ford Crown Victoria in reverse, but instead drove through the front wall of the store.
She broke windows, knocked over two freezers and moved shelves to the back of the store. Damage was estimated at $10,000 to $15,000 and no one was hurt.
According to police, the woman was driving without a license and wasn't wearing her glasses, however she wasn't ticketed because police said the crash happened on private property. She was arrested on a city warrant, police said.
