SAN ANTONIO - Who said that losing weight and getting into shape can't be fun?
On Oct. 7, the YMCA and H-E-B will sponsor Siclovia, a festival that allows residents to run, cycle and play on Broadway.
"It's one day where you can play in the streets and we encourage you to move," said San Antonio City Manager Sheryl Sculley. "A one-day event with lots of healthful tips on wellness, nutrition and activity."
Tony Canti of the Mayor's Fitness Council said that the first Siclovia drew 15,000 people and grew to 40,000 at the second event. Canti hopes for 80,000 at the next go round.
"San Antonio loves a party," Canti exclaimed.
The rundown of events include a 5-K run starting at Alamo Plaza. Siclovia, on Broadway, Feastival, an outdoor Culinaria event at The Pearl and the H-E-B Slimdown Showdown Winner announcements.
