Dog attacks policeman at Hardberger Park

Witness: Dog wasn’t on leash

SAN ANTONIO - Witnesses say a dog, that wasn’t on a leash, attacked a park policeman Wednesday night.

According to Animal Care Services, the dog, a lab mix, bit the policeman on his back and arm.

The owner was walking her dog with out a leash, according to ACS.

A witness to the attack said the policeman told the woman the park was closed and she had to leave.

The woman then said something to the officer and the dog bit the officer.

Animal Care Services took the dog into custody, and the dog’s owner was cited.

According to the agency’s policy, the dog will be quarantined for ten days, after which the owner can petition to get it back.
