A haunted house opens as a classic closes
SAN ANTONIO - Nightmare on Grayson has been a San Antonio Halloween tradition for as long as most can remember.null
As it prepares to close its scary doors for good on Halloween, haunted house fans can look forward to Terror on the Plaza, which kicked off its reign of horror on Friday.
"Hopefully I get scared," said David Bustillos, who visited the haunted house from out of town.
Manager Alex Amaro hopes the three-story house, complete with animatronics and live actors, will give people a unique experience.
"We have different interactive elements: smell, touch. Nobody's allowed to touch you, but we do say that it's very, very intense," he said.
Amaro said he believes people have become desensitized, and so haunted houses have to try even harder.
"We have to push the envelope every year," said Amaro. "We come up with new ways to scare."
The scare might not send you to the grave, but you will leave nearly falling over.
Terror on the Plaza will be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays beginning at 7 p.m. until Oct. 14. It will be open every night of the week Oct. 19 - 31.
