Somerset family looking for answers in unsolved murders

SOMERSET, Texas - A Somerset family is still looking for closure after their loved one was murdered four years ago.

On Saturday, family members of Raymond Bustamante gathered at the same site where he was found dead to honor him and ask for help in finding his killer.

"We need closure," said Yolanda Perez, Bustamante's sister. "We need closure in our lives and that's what we are looking for."

Perez said she has no idea what happened to her brother.

"It's been hard because we have no answers," she said. "We have no idea who did this. Why they did it."

Four years ago, Bustamante and Yolanda Cantu were found dead outside a bar near1604 and Somerset Road.

They had been shot to death. Perez said that whoever killer her brother and Cantu used a semiautomatic weapon.

She said the bar where they were found had been closed for years, but was torn down within the past few months.

"It's hard to see his grandchildren come every year, just seeing him in a picture," said Perez. "And not being able to know how he was or what kind of a person he was."

Perez said all the family wants now is some answers and some help from their community to get the bottom of both murders.

"Somerset is small," she said. "We went to school here -- elementary through high school. Everybody knew him. That's why it's so hard for us to understand why it's taking so long. Four years later, we still don't know who took his life."

Perez said the last time she talked to investigators, they said the case was still open and that they didn't have any leads, but she said she still believes someone out there knows something and she's hoping they'll come forward.
