SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio Water System crews responded Monday to a second sewer overflow caused by the weekend's heavy rain.

According to a SAWS news release, crews observed an additional sewer spill approximately one mile upstream from a sewer spill that occurred on Saturday near Highway 151 just east of Military Drive West along Leon Creek.

The second overflow was also caused by heavy rain over the weekend, and resulted in a spill of greater than 100,000 gallons.

The spill has stopped, and because of high water flow from rains in the creek no adverse impacts have been observed.

SAWS crews will continue to monitor the area.
