Female Northside ISD student admitted to bomb hoax, faces felony charge

SAN ANTONIO - A female student, 12, was arrested Wednesday for calling in a bomb threat to Briscoe Middle School in Northside Independent School District on Wednesday morning, according to NISD spokesperson Pascual Gonzalez.

NISD police swept the buildings at Briscoe Middle School for bombs and built up their police presence at the school. Investigators identified the girl, who admitted to placing the call and that the bomb threat was a hoax.

The seventh grader was arrested at Briscoe Middle School's office and faces a felony charge.

Parents of the 1,200 students at Briscoe Middle School were notified by the school's robo-call system to alert them to the incident.
