What's happening this weekend

A look at some events on the calender the weekend of October 5-7

The Gruene Music and Wine Festival runs Thursday - Sunday in the Gruene Historic District.  The event features Texas wine and food tastings, live music, food trucks, and a market.  Click here for more information.

The annual South Texas School Expo happens this weekend.  KSAT is hosting the event, along with the Children's Hospital of San Antonio.  The expo offers educational opportunities from elementary school through college.  It's all day Saturday at Northstar Mall.  Click here for more information.

A section of Broadway will close on Sunday for the annual Siclovia.  Bikers, runners, walkers, and skateboarders will take over the whole street, with fitness and family fun activities placed along the route.  The route starts at Alamo Plaza and ends at Broadway and Parland.  The event is from 10:00p.m. - 3:00p.m.  Click here for the event website.

20,000 rubber ducks will take over the San Antonio River for the annual Lucky Duck Race.  It costs $5 to enter a rubber duck in the race and proceeds benefit Haven For Hope and the Paseo Del Rio Association.  That's on Sunday, starting at 3:00p.m.  A concert follows the race.

And if you are looking for someone to watch the big game with, you can take advantage of Animal Care Services' "Football Friendzee" that runs through football season.  Adoption fees will be reduced on Sundays from 12:00pm-4:00pm, at the shelter on Highway 151, off Old Highway 90.
