Truck crash leaves trail of damage on northside

Police say people bailed and ran after wild ride left a lot of damage

A wild ride on the northside ended with a trail of busted stuff and the people responsible on the run, police say.

Officers say they found a smashed light pole, a broken fire hydrant, a cracked fence and the truck that did the damage when they arrived at the scene at Vance Jackson and Woodstone just after 2 a.m. Sunday morning.

But they did not find the people in that truck when it crashed.

Witnesses say the truck was speeding when it lost control, veered into the light pole then hit a curb, rolled into the hydrant and then came to a stop as it impacted the fence.

Police say the people inside then jumped out and ran.

A search of the area did not find any suspects.
