NW side daycare shut down over abuse allegations
CPS: Owners abused, neglected their own adoptive children
SAN ANTONIO - The state of Texas on Wednesday asked that a Northwest side preschool be shut down after learning that its owners are under investigation for abusing their own adopted children.
The Honey Tree Preschool, in the 8300 block of Culebra sent all students home Wednesday afternoon because of a Child Protective Services investigation.
CPS spokeswoman Mary Walker said the owners of the daycare are being investigated because of allegations of abuse and neglect of their own adopted children, not kids here at the daycare.
CPS asked the owners to voluntarily shut down the facility during the investigation.
One parent said she was shocked to find out what was going on.
Many other parents said they are confused and baffled at this point.
KSAT will continue to follow this story as the investigation develops.
