Iliana Archuleta, 40, charged with 3 counts injury to a child


SAN ANTONIO - The owner of a shuttered Northwest side pre-school has been arrested on three of injury to a child charges.


An arrest warrant was issued for Iliana Archuleta, 40, the owner of Honey Tree Preschool and Child Development Center, in the 8300 block of Culebra, in connection with the child abuse case.

The state of Texas on Wednesday asked that the pre-school be shut down after learning that Archuleta under investigation for abusing her own adopted children.

The Honey Tree Preschool sent all students home Wednesday afternoon because of a Child Protective Services investigation and the school was closed.

Archuleta’s brother–in-law, 26-year-old Rogelio Archuleta, was arrested Wednesday on three counts of injury to a child.

Iliana Archuleta was booked and released Friday after posting bail -- $7,500 for each count on three counts of injury to a child-serious bodily injury charges. She had turned herself in on Friday at a satellite booking center at 100 Dolorosa Street.

The charges stem from an investigation concerning Iliana Archuleta’s three adopted children -- a 10-year-old boy and girl who are twins and their 8-year-old brother, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
