Man wanted in beating death turns self in

Larry Castro surrenders to police in death of Juan Romero

SAN ANTONIO - One of three men wanted in the beating death of a San Antonio man has turned himself into police.

San Antonio police said Larry Castro, 41, and two other men -- 25-year-old Bernardo Crisanto and 29-year-old Jose Velez -- beat Juan Romero, 41, to death outside a convenience store in the 2300 block of Vance Jackson on Oct. 15.

Crisanto turned himself in to police last week.

The fatal beating stems from an alleged debt Castro owed Romero over a lost game of pool.

Police are asking for anyone with information as to Velez's whereabouts to contact San Antonio Crime Stoppers at 224-STOP.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the people responsible for this crime.
