SAN MARCOS, Texas - A Bryan woman has been charged in connection with a bomb threat at Texas State University last week that prompted evacuations at three university buildings, according to authorities.null
Brittany Nicole Henderson, 19, a former Texas State student, was arrested Tuesday in Brazos County following an investigation involving multiple law enforcement agencies, university police said.
Investigators said they were able to trace the threatening messages to an email account suspected to belong to Henderson.
According to authorities, Henderson has been charged with making a terroristic threat, a third-degree felony; and making a false alarm, a Class A misdemeanor.
The teenager remained in the Brazos County Jail on Wednesday and was awaiting extradition to Hays County, police said.
According to Texas State, Henderson enrolled at the university in fall 2011 and withdrew from the university Sept. 26.
A bomb threat was received by a Texas State admissions officer on Oct. 18, resulting in the evacuation and closure of the Admissions Building and the Tower and San Jacinto residence halls for several hours.
The Austin Bomb Squad conducted a sweep but no explosives were found, police said.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
