Senate nominee Ted Cruz stumps for Francisco 'Quico' Canseco in SA
Canseco: 'Less government equals better government'
SAN ANTONIO - Republican Rep. Francisco “Quico” Canseco met with a spirited gathering of supporters in San Antonio Thursday.
He was introduced by Republican Senatorial candidate Ted Cruz.
“Quico Canseco will stand for small businesses, will stand for entrepreneurs, will stand for creating jobs instead of bankrupting our country,” Cruz told the crowd.
Canseco (pictured below) followed up on the jobs theme as he referred to what he says are his congressional accomplishments.
“We’ve been passing legislation, the House of Representatives, to create more jobs to unleash the power of our economy,” Canseco said.
Canseco said the main difference between him and challenger Pete Gallego is their approach to government.
“I believe that less government governs best,” he said. “And he believes that more government governs best. That’s the big difference.”
Canseco said he planned to spend the remainder of the day Thursday campaigning throughout the 23rd congressional district.
Aside from his “less government” message, he said he will be urging voters to vote early.
