2 arrested in SE side drug bust

'Substantial amount' of black tar heroin seized

SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio police arrested two people after they found what they are calling a "substantial amount" of black tar heroin inside a house on the city's Southeast side.

Detectives with SAPD's Repeat Offender's Program responded to the house in the 100 block of Astor at about 4 p.m. on Friday.

They located the heroin and arrested a man and woman. Police are not releasing their names, but said they are in their 30s.

Police said there were four children in the house at the time, two of whom belong to the pair arrested.

Police said the grandmother now has custody of those two kids.

Police officials said they have been watching this house for a while and they used a canine to comb the house for more drugs.

The two people arrested face felony charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
