Woman injured in SW side fire

Fire crews say victim suffered serious smoke inhalation

SAN ANTONIO - A woman was rushed to the hospital after a fire tore through her home and rescuers pulled her to safety.

That fire happened just before 10:30 p.m. Saturday night in the 100 block of Kimberly Drive on the southwest side.

Fire crews arrived to find heavy flames and smoke pouring from the front of the home.

They say the woman inside was brought out and had suffered severe smoke inhalation.

EMS transported her to University Hospital for treatment.

She was listed in critical condition.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
