SAN ANTONIO - The price of gas nationwide is down almost 10 cents from a week ago, bringing it down to $3.48 for a regular gallon of gas, according to a report by AAA.
However, in San Antonio, a Westside gas station has hit the $2 mark.
The First Stop gas station at West Military and Marbach Road has its price for a regular gallon of unleaded gasoline at $2.99.
"I haven't seen the number two on the gas sign in over a year," said customer Cesar Bustamante.
Bustamante was one of a dozen customers lined up at the pumps at First Stop on Saturday night.
"I drive about 25 miles everyday," said Bustamante. "And this is the cheapest gas I found in town. It's good."
According to SanAntonioGasPrices.com, First Stop is listed as having the cheapest gas in town.
First Stop Store manager Abeykoong Shamel said ever since he dropped the price on Wednesday, his customers have been happy and business has been good.
"They were happy," said Shamel. "It's been a long time since they seen the $2.99 price. They were real happy."
The only catch, he said, is sometimes there is a line.
Shamel said he is only hoping now that another shipment will arrive soon, so he can continue to keep the price this low.
