NCAA tourney returning to SA in 2014, but not at Alamodome
Second, third round games to be played at AT&T Center
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Men's NCAA basketball tournament will return to San Antonio, and for the first time games will be played at the AT&T Center instead of the Alamodome.
The NCAA Men’s Basketball Committee choose the AT&T Center to host the second & third rounds of the 2014 tournament with games scheduled for March 21 & 23, the University of Texas-San Antonio announced.
The two-day event will bring eight teams to the Alamo City for a total of six games. The sub-regional determines who will move onto the Sweet Sixteen. The 2014 Final Four will be held at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.
It will mark the ninth NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship event that UTSA will have hosted, the university announced.
UTSA recently hosted the Southwest Regional in 2011 when VCU upset Florida State and Kansas to advance to the Final Four.
