SA's first 'blow dry bar' debuts

Blown Beautiful opens in Alamo Heights

SAN ANTONIO - Blow dry bars are a booming business in LA, New York and Dallas, and now San Antonio is joining the trend. San Antonio's first blow dry bar, Blown Beautiful, recently opened in Alamo Heights.

"Between New York and California, I visited a lot of blow dry bars and I thought why don't we have this in San Antonio? We have the need for it," said Tina Zillman, Blown Beautiful owner.

Customers won't find color, cuts, perms or relaxers in this beauty parlor because it's only about style. "The stylists are all trained in styling so we'll wash their hair take them back to their stations, talk to them about what they want, show them some pictures," Zillman said.

Everything from the brush to the blow dryer is infused with minerals and Bio-ion technology. Customers are also served wine, sparkling water and chocolate during their visit.

The styling session cost $30 and takes about 30 minutes. Blown Beautiful is located in the 4900 block of Broadway and open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Walk-ins are welcome, but they do recommend making an appointment. Click on the link here for more information.
