Car slams into utility pole causing major power outage
Residents and businesses left in the dark for hours
SAN ANTONIO - CPS crews worked overnight Sunday to restore power in the area of Loop 410 and Summit Parkway after police say a speeding car slammed into a power pole..
They say a 25-year old woman was driving fast down the access road when she hit a curb and lost control
Her car continued on and slammed into the utility pole splitting it in two.
Two transformers also blew leaving residents and businesses in the area without until 5 a.m. Sunday.
The woman who caused the crash was taken to University Hospital for observation.
Power was out to residences and businesses including a Burger King, a Sam's Club and movie theater.
