SAPD: Nicholas Ornelas not cooperating with investigators


SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio police said Nicholas Ornelas, 19, is in critical condition after a shooting on the Northeast side.

Police said Ornelas drove himself to a convenience store at Gibbs Sprawl Road and Walzem around 9 a.m. on Thursday and told a customer he had been shot and needed help.

According to police, he was shot in the torso.

Ornelas was transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center in critical condition.

An officer at the scene said drugs were found on him at the hospital and shell casings were found inside his car.

Police said Ornelas was not cooperating with investigators and they do not know what prompted the shooting.
